Karl Paganin is one of Australia’s most experienced corporate advisers, having spent more than 25 years advising listed companies, private businesses and institutional investors on mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets transactions, strategic advisory and transaction structuring.

Karl commenced his career as a corporate lawyer with leading Australian law firms before joining Heytesbury Holdings Pty Ltd, the investment company of the Holmes à Court family. During his eleven years with Heytesbury he held senior executive roles including Senior Legal Counsel and Director of Major Projects, where he was responsible for many of the Group’s major acquisitions, divestments and strategic transactions. His responsibilities included transactions involving Heytesbury Pastoral Group, at that time Australia’s largest pastoral company, providing extensive exposure to large-scale agricultural assets and agribusiness investment.

Following Heytesbury, Karl established the Corporate Finance division at Euroz Securities in 2002 before later founding and serving as Managing Director of GMP Australia, the Australian affiliate of the Canadian specialist investment bank GMP Securities. Throughout his investment banking career he has advised on numerous public and private transactions across Australia involving capital raisings, mergers and acquisitions, strategic reviews and corporate restructures.

Karl also has extensive listed company governance experience. He currently serves as Chairman of Southern Cross Electrical Engineering Limited and Veris Limited and has previously held a number of other public company directorships.

Karl’s combination of investment banking expertise, legal training and direct experience with major pastoral and agricultural businesses provides significant capability in advising complex agribusiness transactions involving strategic investors, private capital and listed market participants.

Hamish is well known as a broadcaster and media performer, but has also had extensive experience in the formation of companies and early stage investing over the past 25 years.

Hamish’s focus has been on supporting curious, interested and energetic people with great ideas who have a desire to create a world class culture and team who all share in the success of the outcomes.

Hamish was a founding partner of funds management group Opis Capital in 1999, in addition to advertising and communications agency Bastion Collective in 2011.

Hamish was one of three partners in Body Fit Training (BFT) before selling to a listed group in the USA.

Hamish is an early investor and advisor in unlisted tech companies QSIC, Dabble and Superhero, and is an advisor to unlisted funds manager Carbine.

Hamish has a Bachelor of Commerce and thrives in helping people find the best version of themselves, and assisting companies in building outstanding cultures with great connection and values.
